Angels & Demons is a suspense novel written by Dan Brown. It is the first book in the “Robert Langdon” series.

Angels & Demons (Dan Brown) Synopsis

One day, Professor Robert Langdon of Harvard University is asked by Maximilian Kohler, the director of CERN, to explain a certain ambigram emblem. The emblem was branded on the chest of Leonardo Vetra, a scientist at the institute, when he was murdered by someone.

It turns out that Leonardo had recently succeeded in producing antimatter that surpasses nuclear energy, and that this antimatter had also been stolen by the killer. Langdon identifies the emblem as belonging to the legendary Illuminati secret society, but is hesitant to link it to the killer. In search of clues, he travels to Rome with Vittoria Vetra, the daughter of the murdered Leonardo.
